A clever woman found a way to alert authorities to the domestic violence she was enduring all while still in close proximity to her abuser. She dialed 911 and claimed she wanted to order a pizza, something that took the dispatcher by surprised.
While he was confused at first, the 911 dispatcher did a PHENOMENAL job of picking up on the tone of the woman's voice, realizing what was happening, and speaking back to her in a way that allowed her to keep her abuser from figuring out what was happening. The dispatcher also instructed the responding officers to go in without their sirens and explained that the woman "ordered a pizza" to alert them to the abuse.
Thankfully, the police responded swiftly and took the domestic abuser into custody.
